The Mockingbird – by Elaine Lucia

A mockingbird visited me recently, at 4:30 in the morning. In the pitch dark and pouring rain, the bird’s singing woke me out of a deep sleep. Two mornings in a row, I listened to his very loud song, and followed his melody to another realm… where a message awaited me.  He (the mockingbird) was the Messenger. (I know it was a male because the Northern mockingbirds who sing at night (nocturnal) are generally un-mated males….). The delivery of this special message, from my little feathered friend, inspired this song.
